Kaylin E. MacNeil Obituary

Kaylin E. MacNeil, age 35, of Holyoke, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier that day in Agawam. She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to L. Dorothea MacNeil and the late Roger Blackmer. She graduated from Holyoke High School and Holyoke Community College. Kaylin was a licensed electrician, working for I.B.E.W. Local 7. She was an accomplished artist and enthusiastic amateur entomologist. Kaylin also had many hobbies including anime, video games, and old black and white sci fi films. She had a vibrant social life with many dear friends who loved her deeply. Kaylin is survived by her mother in Holyoke, and five siblings: Brendan Blackmer, Ian Blackmer and Derek MacNeil-Blackmer, Anastasia MacNeil and Mary MacNeil-Blackmer and by her nephew Robert, and nieces Leana, Charlotte and Amanda. She is also survived by her girlfriend and life partner of 7 years, Natasha Blackwell. The funeral will be held Friday November 8 at 9:00a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church, Holy Cross Avenue, at 10:00a.m. Burial will be held in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours are Thursday November 7 from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. in the funeral home.
