Kenneth P. Chamberlain, age 81, of Holyoke, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, March 16, 2025. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Rene and Leona (Piquette) Chamberlain and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Ken enjoyed a long career as a Printer, working at Hano Printing in Springfield and Jencoat in Westfield. He served for six years in the Army National Guard. Ken was an avid gardener, enjoyed Pickleball and racquetball, and loved working around the house. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish (now Saint Jerome), and a member of Holyoke Elks # 902. Ken was the widower of Sandra L. (Lafond) Chamberlain, who passed away on December 20, 2008. He is survived by two daughters: Melissa McAndrew and her husband Peter of Holyoke, and Tracy Melgard and her husband Stephen of Saint Augustine, FL; six grandchildren: Michael, Mac and Maggie McAndrew, Allison, Brenna and Nicholas Melgard; a sister, Eleanor Hall of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister-in-law, Gladys Chamberlain of South Carolina, a brother-in-law Robert Lafond, brother and sister-in-law Allan and Lynn Lafond, a sister-in-law Nina Lafond, and several nieces and nephews.He also adored his grand dogs Boo and Leza. Besides his wife and parents, Ken was predeceased by three brothers: Rene, George and Norman Chamberlain, and a brother-in-law, Fred Hall. The Chamberlain family would like to thank the staff at Holyoke Medical Center (Fourth Floor), and Linda Manor in Leeds, for the compassionate care they have shown to Kenneth during his recent illness. The funeral will be held Thursday, March 20th at 9:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 54 North Summer Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. A calling hour will be held Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., 93 Worcester Street, Wellesley MA 02481 or Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield MA 01105.
