HOLYOKE: Kenneth “Kenny” R. Zajac, age 81, of Pittsfield, native of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke, moved to Chicopee where he lived for many years before moving to Pittsfield. Ken was a son of the late Edward and Helen (Kennedy) Zajac and was a graduate of Holyoke Trade School. Ken was employed for many years in the Maintenance Department at UMass Amherst. He is survived by Irene M. Zajac of Pittsfield, a son, Keith R. Zajac of Thurmont, MD; a daughter, Melissa A. Sukeforth and her husband Michael of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Luke Zajac, Anna Sukeforth, Sophie Sukeforth & Isaiah Sukeforth; siblings, Edward “Eddie” Zajac & Robert “Bob” Zajac. Ken loved and was loved by his many family members and friends. The Funeral will be held Monday, May 11, 2026 at 11:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 11:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, both in Holyoke. Burial will be at a later date in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday morning prior to the service from 9:30am to 11:00am.
