Kevin Joseph Smith

Kevin Joseph Smith lived in Columbus, Ohio, and he passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Kevin was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, and he was the son of the late Deacon Joseph Smith, and Mildred (Billings) Smith.  Kevin also lived in Shelton, Connecticut, and it was during this time he attended Fairfield College Preparatory School, in Fairfield, Connecticut for two years.  Kevin and his family later moved to Chicopee, Massachusetts and he was a 1980 graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Kevin was a 1984 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit College, Wheeling, West Virginia where he studied History and Political Science. This is when his passion for politics began. He then completed his Juris Doctorate degree in 1987 from Law School at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio.  While in Ohio, Kevin worked for an attorney, and he also worked for Safe Auto Insurance. Kevin will be remembered for his devotion to his dogs and how he loved them dearly. He will be remembered by his family and friends of being a joyful presence when he entered a room, and he was admired for his quick wit and great sense of humor. Kevin is survived by his two sisters:  Sharon Smith and her fiance Chris of Chicopee; Maureen Tonelli and her husband Bob from Belchertown, and many aunts, cousins, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place, Saturday, May 20th at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church 1945 Northampton Street followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley There are no calling hours.
