L. Elizabeth (Lynch) Crowley, age 98, passed away peacefully at a Hospice in Lincoln, Massachusetts on October 25, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born and raised in Holyoke, devoted daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Mettey) Lynch and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Betty married Maurice Crowely whom she met while working at Westover Air Force Base. She was a longtime active parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Parish in Holyoke. She enjoyed sewing and baking for her beloved family and friends and worked several jobs around her family's needs.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Maurice J. Crowley in 1988. She is survived by her loving family: four children: Daniel F. Crowley of Washington, D.C., Maureen Ribeiro and her husband John of Holyoke, Joanne Smith and her husband Michael of Concord, MA, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Doorandish and her husband Ramin of Lincoln, MA; seven adoring grandchildren: Susie Ribeiro, Ryan Doorandish, Mikaela Smith, Evan Doorandish, Rori Smith, Leah Smith, and Nora Smith. She was a loving sister to Jean Kavanaugh and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Lou Bathelt and Barbara Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 30 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday October 31 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church. Burial will take place in Saint Jerome Cemetery.
