Laura Kathryn Esther Jacques

“When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.”

On October 22, 2020 Laura Kathryn Esther Jacques, 62 of Chicopee and Northampton passed after a brief battle with cancer.  She was born in Holyoke, attended local schools, Holyoke Community College and Westfield State.  Laura served as a board member for Breathing Space Center and was involved with numerous organizations dedicated to helping others and bringing equity to all people.  She enjoyed music, photography, nature, and her beloved Cape Cod.  She is survived by her loving family; father Howard, sister Audrey, nephews Sean Kardos, Ryan Kardos and great niece Marley Rose Kardos of Fairfield, CA. Her extended family includes Beth, Chrissy and Stacy, Martha, Melanie, Dori and Lori and John.  We will forever be grateful for the phenomenal care and compassion shown Laura and her family by the Cooley Dickinson Hospice Team, and the staff of Rockridge Retirement Community.  In the short time she was there she made many new friends who touched her life in meaningful ways. Everyone who knew Laura would agree she was one of the kindest, most generous, joyful and loving people they ever met.  As I write this, dear sister, I can hear your laughter and feel your warmth around me.  You have always been and always will be my best friend.  Thank you for the gift of knowing you.  You were an angel on earth, and now an angel in heaven.
