BELCHERTOWN
Leo Plasse, age 89, of Belchertown, formerly of Holyoke, passed away Wednesday May 27, 2020 at Vero Health Care in South Hadley. Leo was born in Holyoke, son of the late Elphage and Blanche Plasse and was educated in Holyoke schools. Leo served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He later worked for many years as a Millwright at Texon and Sunoco Paper Companies. Leo was a parishioner of St. Francis Church in Belchertown. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and Golden Gloves Boxing. He was known locally for his homing pigeons and was a member of the Central Mass. Racing Pigeon Club. Most importantly he enjoyed time with his family. Leo was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Presto) Plasse in 2008. He is survived by his children: Keith Plasse, Cynthia DiPrimo and her husband Joseph, Joseph Plasse and his wife Deborah, and Joann Chauvin and her husband Matthew; his cherished grandchildren: Tina Plasse Vinaes, Todd Morrissey and wife Dorothy, Michael Morrissey and wife Jennifer, Danielle Plasse, Haley Chauvin, and Rebecca Plasse; and two great grandchildren, Kirsten and Tyler Morrissey; a brother, Donald Plasse; brother-in-law Jackie Presto and his wife Sue, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Jean Paul Plasse and Jeannette Plasse. There are no services at this time. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
