Leonard C. Carriveau Obituary

Leonard C. Carriveau, age 81, of Granby, MA passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. He was born in Holyoke, MA a son of the late Arthur and Jennie (Klinkowski) Carriveau, was a graduate of South Hadley High School, and served in the Army National Guard. Len was employed as a mechanic for Dressel’s, Texaco and Suzuki all of Granby, MA. In addition, he was employed for many years in the maintenance department of Daniel O’Connell’s Sons and was a lifelong resident of Granby, MA. He was the widower of Doris J. “Judy” (Allair) Carriveau who passed away on November 5, 2024. Len is survived by two sons: Gregory Carriveau and his wife Melissa of Shrewsbury, MA and Michael Carriveau of Otis, MA; five grandchildren: Benjamin, Nathan, Elizabeth, Nicole and Luke Carriveau; two great grandchildren: Rylynn and Weston Shedd; his siblings: twin sister Linda Dawson of Holyoke, MA, a brother Rene’ (William) Carriveau of Surprise, AZ, and a sister Christina Dubis of Chatham, MA. Besides his parents, Len was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Carriveau, Jr. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 18th at 9:30 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke, MA. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Children’s New England 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
