Linda E. (Baillargeon) Hellyar, age 76, passed away in her home on January 22, 2024. Linda was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Roland J. and Bertha A. (Dec) Baillargeon and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. She returned to work after her children were born and built a successful career in Holyoke’s paper industry before retiring in 2013 as the Operations Manager for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Linda was a parishioner of Saint Jerome Parish.
She is survived by her children: Christopher Hellyar and his wife Maira of South Hadley, Michelle Hellyar Schultz and husband Lenny of Illinois, and Ryan Hellyar of Holyoke; five grandchildren: Kelsey, Eilis, Anna, Elin, and Barrett; three brothers: Robert Baillargeon and his wife Ronah of Holyoke. James Baillargeon and his wife Linda of Southampton, and Gary Baillargeon and his wife Barbara of Florida; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Some of Linda’s favorite activities and hobbies were attending the theatre, family and beach vacations, and keeping active walking and playing word games. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday January 26 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Patrick’s Chapel of Saint Jerome Church. Burial will take place in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday January 25 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
