Linda Pula Obituary

Linda (Pulaski) Pula, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025 at Mont Marie Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. Linda was born in Holyoke on October 23, 1948 to the late Casmir and Helen (Janik) Pulaski. Linda was a 1966 graduate of Granby High School, where she was a member of the Drill Team and chorus. She then received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UMass Amherst. Linda also graduated with a Master’s Degree in English as a Second Language from UMass Amherst. Linda was a beloved educator in the Holyoke Public Schools for 34 years until she retired. During her 34 years of service, Linda was a union representative for many years for the Holyoke Teacher’s Association and on numerous educational committees. She was also a member of the MTA and NEA. Linda loved teaching first grade and the excitement of teaching her students to read. Linda lived most of her life in Granby, MA where she raised her family. She loved Granby. In earlier years, she loved drawing, painting, and gardening. She had a love for animals, especially cats. Linda loved bringing her family on trips across the country. Her favorite place to visit was Northern California. Linda loved having her annual Christmas party and Summer BBQ for her life long friends. She loved attending the UMass football and basketball games with her family and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox. She loved spending her time with her family and enjoyed every holiday. Linda will be remembered by her vibrant personality and trendy style. Linda was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Thaddeus “Ted” Pula in 2023. Ted was the love of her life. She is survived by her two children Jessica Giroux and her husband Todd of Ludlow, and Gabriel Pula and his wife Cheryl of Granby. She was also the best nana to her three grandchildren Jensen Giroux, Grace Pula, and William Pula. Linda is also survived by her sister, Nancy Wendt and her husband Roger of New Hampshire; her brother-in-law Bruno Pula and his wife Donna of Ludlow and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Linda also leaves her devoted friends who were like family, Ellen & Stephen Souza, Rosemary & Larry Bernier, Susan & Jack Gaughan, Maria Roldan, Dorothy Jarry, and Kathy Kareta who provided support and assistance during a difficult time. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 4 at 8:45am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 256 State Street, Granby. Burial will take place in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours are Monday, February 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the funeral home. Flowers can also be sent to the funeral home.
