WILBRAHAM
Lisa A. (Wilson) Leary passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Lisa was born and raised in Holyoke where she met her best friend and husband of 24 years, Patrick Leary. In 2001, they moved to Wilbraham to raise their four amazing children – Molly (21), Packie (Patrick) (20), Ryan (18), and Morgan (15). Lisa graduated from Holyoke High School in 1988; Bridgewater State University in 1992 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education; Westfield State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. She played soccer for Bridgewater State University and was an active member of Phi Sigma Sigma. Lisa was a teacher at the White Oak School in Westfield and John J. Lynch Middle School in Holyoke. Although Lisa spent many years on her education and was an admired teacher, she left teaching to raise her children. Lisa adored her children, and wanted to spend every moment with them. She coached them in soccer and basketball, including a championship season. Lisa’s passion was her children, but she also enjoyed meeting new people - a skill she mastered. Lisa knows her love for life and building relationships will be carried on by her children. Lisa was born on July 10, 1970 to the late Anne (Stack) and Charlie Wilson. Lisa’s parents and brother Andey will welcome Lisa to Heaven. She leaves her brothers Charles Wilson and his wife Julie; Jamey Wilson and his wife Tara; Conor Wilson; Timothy Wilson and his wife Tricia; and her sisters-in-law Jennifer (Leary) Kmetz and her husband Gary; Staci (Leary) Hastey and her husband Paul; Jill (Leary) Tellier and her husband Mark; and her in-laws Christine and George Leary of Holyoke; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Lisa on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 16th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Masks and social distancing required. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s name can be sent to the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts in Springfield, MA where a fund will be established to fund organizations who help care for those with cancer and to fund research to eradicate cancer.
