Lois M. (Bray) Gray

Lois M. (Bray) Gray, age 96, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Leonard A. and Gladys (Rood) Bray, and attended local schools. Lois worked until retirement in the Customer Information Department at Holyoke Gas & Electric Company. She was the widow of Herbert A. Peterson who predeceased her in 1969, and Louis D. Gray who predeceased her in 2010. Lois is survived by three sons: Herbert A. Peterson and his wife Barbara, Gary A. Peterson, and Robert B. Peterson; a step-son, David H. Gray and his wife Patricia; seven grandchildren: Timothy, Theresa, Mathew, Jennifer, Becky, Rachel, and Adam; four great-grandchildren: Jacob, Finn, Farrah, and Milo; and a sister, Cheryl J. Bray. Besides her parents and her husbands, Lois was predeceased by a brother, Donald Bray, and a sister, Phyllis A. Linderme. An inspiration to many, Lois faced later life challenges with dignity, often expressing that there were others who faced far worse challenges. Lois will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and her great love of family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. A Graveside Service will be held for Lois on Tuesday, August 29th at 11:30 am at Forestdale Cemetery, Cabot Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Granby, MA, or to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Holyoke. The Barry J.
