Lois C. (Desrosiers) Gross

HOLYOKE:  Lois C. (Desrosiers) Gross, age 92, of Holyoke, died on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at home.  She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Edward and Lilla (Olney) Desrosiers and was a 1945 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and the old Providence Hospital School of Nursing.  Lois was a Registered Nurse at Providence Hospital for many years.  She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Gross, who died in 2005.  Lois was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed playing bridge at the Chicopee Senior Center with her friends. She is survived by her children, Barbara Gross of Holyoke, Stephen Gross and his wife Gina of Longmeadow and William E. Gross, III of Holyoke; her grandchildren, Theresa Gross, Andrea and her husband William French, Carolyn Gross, Gregory and Benjamin Chilik, as well as two great-grandchildren, Sylvia and Dustin French. Lois also leaves two nieces, Cynthia Tomko and Lois Baush.  Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Connor and Barbara’s husband, Daniel.  All services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lois to the Sisters of Saint Joseph Retirement Fund, 577 Carew bbarStreet, Springfield, MA 01104.  The Barry J. Farrell Funeral is handling the arrangements.
