Luisa Ofelia Robles

Luisa Ofelia Robles (May 24, 1938 – April 7, 2026) was born the daughter of Juan Robles and Balbina Cruz in Ciales, Puerto Rico. She learned to be a caretaker and built her life as a caretaker starting with helping raise her 9 younger brothers.

 She always felt blessed being a mother of 8 children. Through these loves, she moved between Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts; Massachusetts has been her home since 1995. However, her major love was her love of God. Throughout the years, Luisa’s faith expanded while exploring various religions. In 1999, she found her religion and remained a Jehovah’s Witness.

 Luisa used to enjoy sewing, crocheting and knitting. Her recent pastimes included spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading the Bible and having conversations about God with friends and family, and having laughable moments. She loved dressing up for church even when she attended church services through Zoom.

 She was a kind empathetic person who would give selflessly and wished well to everyone, even those who may have wronged her. Luisa was a natural caregiver and prayed for everyone’s wellbeing every night. Her family described her as an unapologetically kind person, strong-willed, beautiful and true to herself to the very end.

 Luisa is survived by her children, Venancio Marrero Jr., Angel Marrero, Minerva Marrero, Eneida Alexander, John Moran, Enrique Moran, Rebecca Diaz, and Magaly Santana. She also survived 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

 Finally, Luisa survived her brothers, Felix Robles, Angel Robles, Carmelo Robles, Jose “Mañe” Robles and Gabriel Robles.

 The funeral will be held Monday, April 13 at 9:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Jehovah’s Witness service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at Forestdale Cemetery West in Holyoke with a reception at the Waterfront in Holyoke soon after.

Luisa Ofelia Robles (24 de mayo de 1938 – 7 de abril de 2026) nació hija de Juan Robles y Balbina Cruz en Ciales, Puerto Rico. Desde temprana edad aprendió a cuidar de los demás y construyó su vida como cuidadora, comenzando al ayudar a criar a sus 9 hermanos menores.

 Siempre se sintió bendecida de ser madre de 8 hijos. A través de estas experiencias, vivió entre Puerto Rico, Nueva Jersey, Connecticut y Massachusetts; siendo Massachusetts su hogar desde 1995. Sin embargo, su mayor amor fue su amor por Dios. A lo largo de los años, la fe de Luisa creció mientras exploraba diversas religiones. En 1999, encontró su religión y permaneció como Testigo de Jehová.

 A Luisa le gustaba coser, hacer crochet y tejer. En sus últimos años, disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus hijos y nietos, leer la Biblia, conversar sobre Dios con familiares y amistades, y compartir momentos llenos de risas. Le encantaba arreglarse para la iglesia, incluso cuando asistía a los servicios a través de Zoom.

 Fue una persona amable y empática, que daba de sí misma desinteresadamente y siempre deseaba el bien a todos, incluso a quienes pudieron haberle hecho daño. Luisa tenía un don natural para cuidar de los demás y cada noche oraba por el bienestar de todos. Su familia la describe como una persona genuinamente bondadosa, de carácter fuerte, hermosa y fiel a sí misma hasta el final.

 Le sobreviven sus hijos: Venancio Marrero Jr., Ángel Marrero, Minerva Marrero, Eneida Alexander, John Moran, Enrique Moran, Rebecca Díaz y Magaly Santana. También le sobreviven 23 nietos y numerosos bisnietos.

 Finalmente, le sobreviven sus hermanos: Félix Robles, Ángel Robles, Carmelo Robles, José “Mañe” Robles y Gabriel Robles.

 El funeral se llevará a cabo el lunes, 13 de abril a las 9:30 a.m. en la funeraria Barry J. Farrell en el 2049 de Northampton Street en Holyoke, seguido de un servicio de los Testigos de Jehová a las 11:00 a.m. en el mismo lugar. El sepelio se realizará posteriormente en el cementerio Forestdale Cemetery West en Holyoke, seguido de una recepción en “The Waterfront” en Holyoke poco después.
