Margaret L. (Sullivan) Bergeron

Margaret L. (Sullivan) Bergeron, age 95, of Chicopee, passed away at Willimansett Center East on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late John E. and Susan (Loughery) Sullivan, and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Holyoke. Margaret worked for many years in Food Service for the Chicopee Public Schools. She was a faithful communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Parish in Chicopee, and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. Margaret was the widow of Edward G. Bergeron who predeceased her in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Sawyer and her husband Frank of Belchertown: two grandchildren, Lafe Sawyer and his wife Jenn, and Melissa Aliengena and her husband Michael; four great-grandchildren: Max, Izabella, Charlie, and Leah, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Margaret was predeceased by her two sons, Richard and Ronald Bergeron. A Funeral Service will be held for Margaret on Sunday, September 25th at 12 noon at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be held at the family’s convenience. Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, 200 S. Park Road, Suite 100, Hollywood, FL 33021.
