Margaret Laizer Obituary

Holyoke

Margaret Doris (Schwab) Laizer, age 93, of Mowry Avenue in Holyoke, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Holyoke Medical Center. Margaret was born in Holyoke on June 4, 1926 to Charles and Doris (Mueller) Schwab. She grew up on Brown Avenue in Holyoke, and lived there until her marriage to Bolack Laizer at Blessed Sacrament Church on June 26, 1946; after marrying they moved to Mowry Avenue. Margaret is survived by her three children: Cathy Frye (Hassell), Walter Laizer (Doree), and Michael Laizer (Sue); four grandchildren: Caroline Donnelly (Brian), Cynthia Gilbert (James), Andrea Laizer (fiancé Alex Fritz), and Nicki Haluch (Eric); six great grandchildren: David Crichton (Kathryn), Adrian Crichton (fiancé Danielle Whitman), Cory Babinski, Kayce Babinski, Kayla Gilbert, and James Gilbert, Jr.; and two great great grandchildren: David Crichton, Jr. and Owen Babinski. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bolack in 2000 and her sister Dorothy Shayne in 2009. Margaret (known as Mema) was a sweet, loving and kind woman who loved the Lord. She was known by her family as their prayer warrior. She loved to travel and had a special love for the beach, where she would spend the day with her feet in the water. Her greatest loves were spending time with her family, playing her organ, singing, and sitting quietly with her cat Tigey.  Due to present circumstances, the funeral and burial will be private. She will be buried in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley next to her husband. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date. The Barry J.
