Margaret M. (Wall) Mission

Margaret M. (Wall) Mission, age 91, of West Springfield, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Day Brook Village in Holyoke after a brief illness. She was born in Northampton, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Joyce) Wall and was educated in local schools. She was the widow of Arthur L. Mission, who predeceased her in 2011. Margaret and Arthur were married for 63 years. They met at New England Telephone company where they both worked. Margaret went on to work for Waldbaum’s Food Mart for many years until she retired in 1983. Margaret and Arthur moved to Garden City, SC where they were happily retired for many years. Margaret moved back to Massachusetts in 2016 to enjoy spending time with her family. Margaret is survived by three sons: Robert Mission and his wife Karen of Hampton, NH, Gary Mission and his wife Linda of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Mark Mission and his wife Lori of West Springfield; seven grandchildren: Robert, Shannon, Bryan, Sarah, Adam, Stephanie, and Nicholas; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by a son, Arthur William, and a brother, Robert Wall, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret’s Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 20^th at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Northampton. There are no calling hours. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
