Margaret "Peggy" Cavanaugh

Margaret “Peggy” Cavanaugh, age 71, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at her home in South Hadley. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late John M. and Blanche (Plichta) Cavanaugh, was educated in local schools, and graduated from Westfield State College. Peggy lived most of her adult life in South Hadley, and worked as a Programmer for O’Connell Construction in Holyoke. She is survived by her cousins: Bruce Plichta of Yarmouth Port, and Katherine Stadnicki of West Springfield and her daughters, Patricia and Stephanie Stadnicki. She will also be missed by her aunt, Erline Plichta, and her dear friends: Nancy Nadeau, Marsha Ryan, JoAnne Howlett, Nancy Hall, Rita Kennedy, Gail Olesiak, Beth Brehm and Al Bean. The family would like to thank the staff members of Holyoke VNA and her home health aides for their exceptional care of Peggy. A Graveside Service will be held for Peggy on Tuesday, August 2nd at 11:00 am at Saint Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke. There are no other services and the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s honor to the ALS charity of your choice.
