Maria (Hartinger) Harand, age 97, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Mont Marie Healthcare Center. She was born in Schibowska, Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Hohan and Fransica (Lenes) Hartinger and had lived in the United States for many years. Maria was a communicant of Holy Cross Church (now Our Lady of the Cross). She is survived by two sons: Stefan Harand of Chicopee and Peter Harand, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Feeding Hills; two grandchildren, April and Jennifer, seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Rose Hartinger of Holyoke. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Peter Harand, a brother, Tommy Hartinger, and two sisters, Joanne LaRose, and Ann Fournier. Family and friends are invited to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Avenue, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
