Marianne Marion (Ozerhoski) Duval Obituary

Our dear Mom wrote her own obituary and here it is: “I, Marianne Duval, born December 12, 1928 in Thomaston, CT to Walter and Helen Ozer, left this world from Mont Marie Center on January 4, 2025. I attended public schools in Thomaston and was awarded the first scholarship given in Thomaston High School. I received nurses’ training at Providence Hospital in Holyoke, became registered and was employed there for over 40 years. I became certified by the Library of Congress as a braille transcriber in 1980, and transcribed hundreds of pages into braille. I also read for the blind at a radio station. I knitted many caps for newborns and spent many hours in all kinds of needlework and quilting. I loved my flowers, gardens, birds, and butterflies. But most of all, I loved my children: Laureen Bronner, Annette Labonte (David), and Daniel Marion, and my stepdaughters Cynthia Beaudry and Laura Grondin. Also my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also my sister Joan Maloney and my brother Eugene Ozerhoski (Helen), niece and nephews.

I was predeceased by Laurier Marion in 1981and Gerard Duval in 2017. I am grateful to the Lord, who blessed me with my life, my family, and my friends- in particular, Mary and Jim Mazik, Shelley and Buddy Schlegel, and Roger Duval. Now it is time for me to go as my Jerry is waiting for me. Please think of me once in a while and know I loved you all. Until we meet again, ‘Marianny’ Duval.” Mom requested cremation and no calling hours, and that any charitable donations please go in her memory to: St Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
