Marion Lynn (Geuder) Gartman, 79, of Holyoke, after a valiant fight, died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Marion was born in Portland OR on April 14, 1943 to the late Laurane and Philip Geuder. She spent her childhood living at various places around the country depending on where her “Dad” (Frank J. Armstrong) was deployed. She married Otto A. Gartman in 1962, settling in Holyoke MA where she has lived for the past 59 years. Marion, or Lynn, as her siblings called her, enjoyed writing, crafts, photography, and was a strong advocate for conservation. Marion was a member of the Holyoke Conservation Commission for many years. She also enjoyed volunteering for her church, and the City of Holyoke. Marion was a member of First Lutheran Church, serving on various committees. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family. Besides her mom, dad and biological father, Marion was preceded in death by her husband Otto and her beloved grandson Austin A. Gartman. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Fenton (Toby), son Alan Gartman (Gisela), grandson Anthony (Nancy), granddaughter Emilia, step-grandchildren Amy Santos (Fred), and Christine Fenton and Cory Fenton (Meaghan). She is also survived by her younger siblings Philip Armstrong, Joy Lusher, James Armstrong (Cindy) and Toni Jenkins (Barry), along with many nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 11th at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1810 Northampton Street. Burial will follow at Smith’s Ferry Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1810 Northampton Street, Holyoke MA 01040 or to Holyoke VNA/Hospice Life Care, 575 Beech Street, Holyoke MA 01040.
