Marsha Marinello O'Donnell

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden loss of Marsha Marinello O'Donnell on August 24, 2023. She was born on August 6, 1947 in Holyoke, MA to Mary (Sullivan) and Marco Marinello. She attended Holyoke Public Schools, Ursuline Academy and majored in English at Merrimack College. She worked at Mountain Park, The Holyoke Transcript, Delaney House, and Barnes & Noble. Marsha married Michael O'Donnell in 1968. They settled in New Jersey for many years, eventually returning to reside in Holyoke. They had five children whom they raised to be bright, kind, hardworking, and deeply funny. She leaves Jonathan (Shirena) O'Donnell from Wilmington, Jennifer O'Donnell from Las Vegas, Christopher O'Donnell (Kate) from Holyoke, Marc O'Donnell (Kristin) from Las Vegas, and Stephen O'Donnell from Las Vegas. Her grandchildren are Erin, Molly and Ryan O'Donnell of Holyoke and Audrey, Kaitlyn and Marshal O'Donnell of Las Vegas and Jake and Julie Williams from Wilmington. She leaves a brother, Marc (Stephanie) Marinello of Holyoke, and a sister, Marita Marinello, also of Holyoke. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins belong to her large family as well as her cherished friends. Her three dogs also remain and she is no doubt now surrounded by the dozens she has loved over her lifetime. She was married again in 2002 to Jim Hart, also originally from Holyoke. They lived in Windsor before retiring to Wilmington, North Carolina. A Graveside Service will be held for Marsha on Monday, October 30th at 2:00 pm at Saint Jerome Cemetery, Northampton Street, Holyoke. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke is handling the service.
