Mary (Craven) Leary, 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family, in Buffalo, New York on February 18, 2021.
Mary was born May 24, 1945 to Harry and Mary (Griffin) Craven. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Gerald Leary, formerly of Holyoke, their children: Maureen of North Carolina, Kevin of Florida, and Sean of Rode Island; their nine grandchildren: Jimmy, Josh, Grace, Rachel, Sara, Megan, Miranda, Ian, and Brayden. She also leaves her twin brother Harry Craven (Catherine) of Holyoke, her sisters Joanne Dunn (Frank) of Holyoke and Kathleen Craven of Colorado.
Mary graduated from the former Ursuline Academy in 1963 and attended Holyoke Community College. Mary inspired a brighter day with her outgoing personality and ability to make friends wherever she went. She was a gifted quilter, and many were fortunate to receive one of her beautiful creations. She and Jerry have fond memories of their travels and especially their winters spent in Florida. Mary loved golfing and received an award for her “hole in one”. She also enjoyed playing cards.
She will be forever in our hearts, terribly missed and never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street Holyoke followed by burial in Saint Jerome Cemetery. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
