Mary Catherine Loftus-Rooney

Mary Catherine Loftus-Rooney, age 63, born on Good Friday April 15, 1960 of South Hadley, passed away at her home on Monday, August 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holyoke, a daughter of the late William E. and Teresa (Devine) Loftus and was educated at Holy Rosary School through grade 5, then South Hadley Schools. Mary was employed for many years as a Home Health Aide. She always cared for her patients with empathy and love.  She and her twin shared a love of horses, dogs and wildlife.  Mary cherished time spent going for drives in the country, stopping at a favorite restaurant or just watching a movie at home. She is survived by her children Jennifer Kelly and William Loren. Two sisters: her twin sister, Teresa “Terry” Gaither of Granby and Elizabeth “Beth” Loftus of Pepperell; two brothers: Thomas Loftus of Southampton and Timothy Loftus and wife Marina of South Hadley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and William Loftus, and brother- in- law Donald Gaither. All services were private. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home of Holyoke handled arrangements.
