Mary C. (Brunette) Riffenburg

Mary C. (Brunette) Riffenburg, age 83, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at her home. She was born in Vermont, daughter of the late Alfred R. and Daisy (Plamadon) Brunette, moved to Western MA with her family as a child, and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Mary dedicated much of her life to raising her children and grandchildren, which brought her great joy, and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of the Cross Church. She was the widow of Robert G. Riffenburg, Sr. who predeceased her on February 15, 2007. Mary is survived by five sons: Robert G., Jr. of Holyoke, Stephen and his wife Evelyn of Holyoke, William of San Antonio, TX, Michael and his wife Rebecca of Holyoke, and Christopher and his wife MaryBeth of Holyoke; a daughter, Deborah White and her husband Bruce of Holyoke; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Alice Brunette of Tampa, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mary was predeceased by her siblings, Alfred Brunette and Carol Lyczhyn. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 11th at 9 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church, Holy Cross Avenue. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 10th from 4 to 7 pm.
