A longtime Registered Nurse, Mary Lou worked at Mercy Hospital for many years, as well as performing private duty nursing until her retirement in 2009. Besides her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by a son, Robert G. Stein, and two brothers, Thomas H. Dempsey and Raymond J. Dempsey. The family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Nursing Home and Spectrum Home Health and Hospice Care for the compassionate care they provided to Mary Lou, as well as her cruise friends and performers, especially Ronan Tynan, who called her his number #1 fan.
