MaryAnn (Bernard) Sharrow Obituary

MaryAnn (Bernard) Sharrow, 83, of Montgomery, MA, died on April 18, 2026, at Mass General, Boston, MA. She was born in South Hadley, MA. She was the daughter of Omer Bernard and Marguerite Bernard. She is survived by her husband, Charles “Bud” Sharrow, husband of 67 years; her daughters, Brenda Menard and husband Douglas Menard, Tami Sharrow-Gero and husband Larry Gero; her grandson, Daniel Menard; and her step-granddaughters, April & Allison Gero. She was a graduate of Hampshire Regional High School and went on to dedicate 40 years of service to Big Y Supermarkets, where she began as a cashier and worked her way up to a receiver through her strong work ethic and determination. She was one of the strongest women you could ever know—a true warrior in every sense of the word. Hardworking and resilient, she faced life with determination and grace. Strong, brave, warm, generous, and deeply loving, she touched the lives of so many. She was beautiful inside and out, and she had a wide circle of support—truly loved by many. No matter where she was or what she was going through, she always showed up for the people she loved, especially her family. She was an amazing mother, and her love—fierce, steady, and unwavering—will be felt forever by all who knew her. MaryAnn found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She loved music and dancing, vacationing and cruises, playing cards, doing puzzles, and going out to dinner with loved ones. She especially cherished her time as a “snowbird” at her condo in Florida. She often said, “Get up, dress up, show up,” a simple but powerful reflection of how she lived her life every day in full bloom. MaryAnn's strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in all of us. In her final moments, she shared words that reflect exactly who she was: “You will be okay. Be good, and I love you.” It’s a message she leaves with all of us—one of love, strength, and the simple goodness she carried throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
