Mary Beth Pendergast, age 70, a lifelong Holyoke resident, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was born in Holyoke, a daughter of the late William F. Pendergast Jr. and Estelle N. (Bowen) Pendergast and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1973 and Holyoke Community College in 1975. Mary Beth also attended the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee. She enjoyed the Holyoke Y.M.C.A. and volunteered at the Holyoke Senior Center and Sunshine Village. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church (Now Our Lady of the Cross Parish).

Besides her parents, Mary Beth was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and John Lobik of Greenfield. She is survived by a brother, William F. Pendergast III and wife MiSuk of South Korea; a sister, Karen Dupre and husband Kenneth of Easthampton, seven beloved nieces and nephews: Jennifer Lobik, Meredith Lagoy, Jason (Lisa) Lobik, Kim Ann Pendergast (George Rebello), Moira (Aroidi) Cruz, Kara (Andrew) Sheridan, and Kaitlin (James) Branagan, as well as several great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral will be held Saturday, November 22 at 9:30 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Avenue. Burial will follow at Saint Brigid’s Cemetery, Easthampton. A calling hour will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30.
