Mary Ellen Rood passed away on November 13, 2024 from complications due to emergency surgery. She was the granddaughter of Irish immigrants (Moran, Lucey, Mahar). She was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High School and worked as an underwriter in the insurance industry prior to her retirement. Despite the many challenges in her life, she faced them with a pure heart. She was predeceased by her parents, uncles, and aunts. She leaves her brothers Jim, Michael, and John as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she cherished. Her burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in the spring.
