Matthew John Lacus, age 64, of Holyoke, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born in Holyoke on June 25, 1960, a son of the late George D. and Pauline (St. Laurent) Lacus. Matthew’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, working on cars and anything outdoors. He was most proud of his son Devon who he loved with all his heart. Matthew worked in the construction business for most of his life. He knew all aspects of the paving business and was the foreman for Labrie Paving before moving on to truck driving prior to his retirement. Besides his parents, Matthew was predeceased by three brothers, George D. Lacus Jr., Joseph A. Lacus and Mark S. Lacus, as well as a sister, Christine A. (Lacus) Sarafin. He is survived by a son, Devon Lacus of Holyoke; three brothers: Robert Lacus of Belchertown, Paul (Susan) Lacus of Elizabethton, TN, and John Lacus of Holyoke; two sisters: MaryLynn (Roger) Bliss of Granby and Pauline (David) Sadler of Elizabethton TN, as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 20th at 12 Noon at Saint Jerome Cemetery (Saint Thomas Section), 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke. There are no calling hours. Barry J.
