Beloved Aunt, Great-Aunt, and Sister, Maureen Grace Morrissey, a lifelong resident of Holyoke, passed away on August 25, 2020 after a long, arduous battle with cancer. Maureen began working as a cashier at Food Mart of Holyoke while in high school and advanced to Regional Manager during her tenure with Food Mart then A&P, and finally retired from Big E’s of Easthampton. “Moe,” as she was known to friends and family, bred and showed Miniature Schnauzers including Ch. Double Trouble. She loved to travel abroad in her retirement and go to craft shows to find “the perfect gift” for her loved ones. Maureen is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Wehrlen and Debra Morrissey; her brother, James Morrissey; her nieces: Shannon West-Buxton, Pamela West, and Rachael Morrissey, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. All services for Maureen are private and are being handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Maureen’s memory to Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center or to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Center.
