Michael D. "Mugs" Mulligan

Michael D. “Mugs” Mulligan, age 69, of Holyoke, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Chester and Ann (Grygorowicz) Mulligan and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Mike enjoyed his ‘dream job’ for thirty years, working as a Firefighter for the City of Holyoke, retiring in 2009 after attaining Badge # 1. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by a brother, Edward Wysocki of Cotuit, his life partner Susann Woodbury, and extended family Herta Linnell, Crystal Woodbury, Brian Eckert and Shawn Morales; Best friend from diapers, Kevin Dorman, who is better known as his brother, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters: Alice Donatello, Dorothy Grandmont, and Cecelia Curran. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 18th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. A celebration of life will continue at 5:30 p.m. at East Mountain Country Club,1458 East Mountain Road in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holyoke Fireman’s Aid Association, 600 High Street, Holyoke MA 01040.
