Nancy M. (Pouliot) Rowell Obituary
Nancy Mary Anne Rowell, age 72, passed away peacefully in her home amongst her loved ones on January 27, 2026.
Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts where she was raised and graduated from Holyoke High school, later resided in Chicopee Massachusetts. Nancy Rowell was the epitome of comfort, stability, loving, and grounded support. To her family she was the reliable anchor, the steady presence whom everyone leaned on. While she could be set in her ways and stubborn about change, her loyalty was unmatched and unwavering.
Nancy was a devoted wife to William “Billy” Rowell for 52 years, building a life rooted in love, commitment, and faith. Her naturally calm and nurturing personality made working in neighborhood schools especially meaningful, where she quietly cared for countless children. She later brought that same care to the Holyoke Rehabilitation Center, sharing her gift for cooking and ensuring many people were well fed and comforted.
She is survived by her oldest son, William Rowell, his spouse Camille Egnor and their children Jadin and Peyton; her only daughter Tammy Rowell, her spouse William Fortin and her children Morgan, Breanna, and Donavan; and her youngest son, Brian Rowell, his spouse Jennifer Rowell and their children Tyler, Aubrey, and Mason. Her 4 siblings, Donald Pouliot his spouse Patricia Pouliot, Richard Pouliot his spouse Cheryl Pouliot, Diane Belliveau her spouse David Belliveau and sister in law Delores Pouliot. Nancy was also blessed to become a great-grandmother to Anora, Jeddisen, and Jahvonn, a role that brought her immense joy.
She was predeceased by her beloved mother Laura Pouliot and father Roland Pouliot along with her oldest brother James Pouliot.
Nancy loved good food, desserts, beautiful flowers, and her favorite programs. She took deep pride in her family legacy, cherishing every milestone her grandchildren reached. Her Catholic faith was central to her life and shaped the way she loved, served, and guided those around her. It was not just something she believed, but something she lived.
Nancy’s presence brought calm, reassurance, and a sense of home. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her love and example will continue through the generations she nurtured so faithfully.
