Normand Joseph LaFrance, age 85, of South Hadley, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late William and Clara (Tanguay) LaFrance, and was educated in local schools. Normand was a proud United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, attaining the rank of Airman First Class. After his military service, Normand followed in his father’s footsteps and worked as self-employed painter for many years. Normand is survived by his sisters, Vivian LaFrance and her partner John B. Renfro of Westfield, and Jeanne Ruell of Florida, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents, Normand was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine and his brother, Maurice. Committal with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 22nd at 11 am in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
