Patricia Gilmour of South Hadley died peacefully at home on March 17, 2025. Born July 26, 1942, Pat was the beloved daughter of the late John and Loretta Lavelle. She was a proud 1963 graduate of the Providence Hospital School of Nursing and devoted 55 years of her life to the care of others, completing her career in 2019 at the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.
Pat was predeceased by her husband and true love, Doug Gilmour in 1991. She leaves behind daughters Elizabeth Mainville (Dave) of Warwick, RI and Susan Martin (Scott) of Holyoke, and son Scott Bacon (Christen) of Longmeadow. She also leaves behind her dear lifelong friend Carla Metzler. Pat, or Mimi as she was called by her six grandsons, enjoyed shopping, gardening and yearly trips to Hampton Beach.
The funeral will be held on Friday March 21 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Patrick’s Church, South Hadley. Burial is in St. Rose Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday March 20 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
