Patricia A. (Shea) O'Leary

Patricia A. (Shea) O’Leary died peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at age 81. She was born in Springfield, the daughter of the late John E. and Lillian H. (Taylor) Shea. Patricia graduated from Cathedral High School and The College of Our Lady of the Elms. She received two Masters Degrees from Westfield State University and American International College. For many years, Pat was a teacher in the Holyoke Public Schools. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. O’Leary. Over the years, Pat and Jim loved traveling and enjoyed many wonderful trips in the United States and Europe. Pat leaves her daughter, Kathryn S. Kraus of Largo, Florida, and her brother, Jack Shea and his wife Barbara of Hampden, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Pat was predeceased by her son-in-law, David M. Kraus, and her sisters-in-law, Ruth and Mary O’Leary, Barbara Halpin, Phyllis Fortsch and Louise McGinty. Pat’s family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Orchard Valley at Wilbraham and Baystate Hospice for their compassionate care throughout Pat’s illness. A Graveside Service will be held for Pat on Monday, August 22nd at 1:00 pm at Saint Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Springfield, 577 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
