Paul Francis Bernier

Paul Francis Bernier, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at his sister's home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was the eldest child born to the late Shirley (Chateauneuf) and Francis Bernier on July 12, 1948 in Holyoke, MA, and grew up in South Hadley. He is survived by his two sisters, Vivian (Bernier) Blair and her husband Allen Blair, as well as Michelle (Bernier) Demears and her husband Wayne Demears. Paul remained close with all of them for their entire lives. Paul graduated from Holyoke Trade school in 1966 and spent 40 years working as an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local 7. He is survived by his three daughters, Brenda Bernier of South Hadley, Anne Deschenes of St. Pete Beach, FL, and Kelly Ozga and her husband Dan of South Hadley, as well as a son, Kevin Bernier and his fiancée Kaitlin of South Windsor. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Lauren (Deschenes) Austin and her husband Zack, Christian Deschenes, Matthew Bernier, and Adam and Jocob Ozga, in addition to several nieces and nephews who all have fond memories of “Uncle Paul.” He was very involved in cheering on his grandchildren during their respective hobbies, whether it be attending plays, band concerts, Taekwondo tournaments or baseball games. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and remained very active with many friends and extended family playing golf, bowling and playing card games with the family. Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service for Paul on Monday, September 26th at 3:00 pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton, St., Holyoke, MA, 01040. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hospice Life Care, 575 Beech St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
