Pauline Kay Saulmon, a beloved mother, grandmother, and wife known for her boundless positivity, died July 13, 2023 at home in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Born in North Miami, Oklahoma, Pauline grew up in Rocky Ford, Colorado, where she met Harvey Saulmon. The high-school sweethearts reconnected decades later and married, spending over 20 years together. She was the love of his life, and he was the love of hers. Pauline’s son, Jeff Visconti of Fort Collins, Colorado, and daughter, Kim Visconti Williams, of Holyoke, remember their mother as their biggest cheerleader. She instilled a hard work ethic and taught them to be strong, and she was game for anything—whether it was a rock concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater or a frigid Broncos game. She loved Fenway Park and Estes Park, Mount Sugarloaf and Yankee Candle. Over a career as a self-taught administrative assistant, Pauline earned a reputation as a kind, helping spirit driven by unfaltering optimism. A longtime employee of the UmassFive College Federal Credit Union, she also worked as the town hall secretary in Hatfield, Massachusetts and, in Colorado, in roles at the Thompson School District, Larimer County, and others. She was skilled in knitting and crochet, and her family will treasure her handmade potholders, blankets, and other thoughtful gifts. Pauline also leaves behind a sister, Earline Nelson of Iola, Kansas; Jeff and Kim’s children: Nick Goldstein, Nathan Goldstein, Janessa Visconti, and Brodie Visconti; and Harvey’s sons, Greg Saulmon of Holyoke and Jonathan Saulmon of Manchester, New Hampshire, and their families. A celebration of her life will be held in Rocky Ford, CO on September 9, 2023.
