Raymond J Page, 88, formerly of Chicopee MA passed away on Monday July 22, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Raymond was born on May 20, 1936 in Amherst MA to the late Raymond and Mary (Grant) Page. His family moved to Chicopee in 1946, where he attended Chicopee High School and worked as a laborer before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1956, after boot camp he was sent to flight school where he became an aircraft mechanic and was later stationed on the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier (CV42). Raymond attained the rank of private first class in 1957 and Lance Corporal in 1958 before being honorably discharged in 1962. Raymond returned back to Chicopee and married the late Elizabeth “Dolly” (Angelo) Page on September 16, 1961 and was happily married for 46 years before her untimely passing in 2006. Raymond married Marylou “Mimi” (Savage) Page in June of 2008 and had 12 happy years before her untimely passing in 2020. Raymond was a communicant of St. Mary's church in Chicopee for many years before it closed in 2009 and later St. Elizabeth's parish and the First Church in Ludlow. After being discharged from the Marines Raymond was proudly employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft where he was a machinist in the aerospace division. Raymond worked on every space mission from the Apollo and Skylab to the Space Shuttle before retiring in 1998 after 40 years or service. Raymond was also an auto mechanic and worked mornings for several different auto repair shops in Chicopee. Raymond was an avid gardener and he loved his cars, he loved to watch sports and loved to travel, he was a former member and supporter of the Moose Club, the VFW, and the American legion. Raymond was a proud supporter of many, many charities and missions, and was a big supporter of both the wounded warriors project and the Law enforcement Memorial in Washington DC. Raymond leaves behind his brother William Page and his wife Pam of Chicopee, his sister Ann Page of Windsor Locks Ct., his four children Denise Page and her partner Linda Croteau of Chicopee, Brenda Fernandes and her husband Frank of Belchertown, Mark Page and his wife Sharon of Ludlow and Sharon Laduke and her husband Jeremy of Ludlow. He also leaves four grandchildren Courtney Fulton and her husband Joshua of Chicopee, Samantha Fernandes of Belchertown, Garett and Jacob Laduke of Ludlow and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was loved greatly and will be dearly missed by everyone especially his granddaughter Courtney who was always with him and who helped to take care of him in his final days. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond on Monday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Parish Church, 191 Hubbard Street, Ludlow. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 28th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dana Farber Children's Hospital, St.Judes Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Project.
