Rene A. Tremblay Obituary
Rene A. Tremblay, age 85, passed away peacefully August 11, 2024 at Agawam East Rehab Center. Rene was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 18, 1938, to Antonio and Malvina (Lemoine) Tremblay from Canada. Rene is survived by his life-partner Susan Diliberto; a daughter Lynn Armstrong (Richard); step-daughters, Theresa Johnson (Marshall), Joan Cameron (Carl) and son-in-law, Christopher Uriano. Rene leaves behind his grandchildren, Margaret, Samuel and Henry Johnson, Hannah and Jack Cameron and Olivia Uriano. Rene was predeceased by his brother, Albert Tremblay and step-daughter, Angela Uriano. Rene worked for many years in the service industry including Halmar and Chicopee Provisions. He enjoyed spending time in the backyard oasis he created - whether it be in his pool, sunning on the deck, or listening to music - especially singing along to his favorite Motown songs. Another enjoyment of Rene’s was boxing. It would be no surprise seeing him sitting ringside at the Golden Gloves Boxing matches. He also loved vacationing with Sue at New Hampshire and Cape Cod beaches. They would spend countless hours relaxing on the beach enjoying one another’s company. Rene’s family would like to thank the staff of Agawam East Rehab Center who cared for him. With their support and care, Rene lived out his final days with dignity. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Rene fought a courageous battle for many years against Alzheimer’s. Donations can be made in his memory to: The Alzheimer’s Association (www.act.alz.org), 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
