Richard D. Mathewson, age 70, of Holyoke, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Kenneth and Sylvia (Kelly) Mathewson and was a 1973 graduate of Holyoke High School. Richard worked as a custodian at the former Holyoke Nursing Home for many years. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Mathewson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow at Saint Rose Cemetery, South Hadley.
