Richard "Dick" Pratt Obituary

Richard “Dick” Pratt entered into his eternal rest on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center. Born on May 15, 1942, in Claremont, New Hampshire, Richard was the son of Roland F. Pratt and Jenny (Auguston) Pratt. A devoted husband and family man, Richard married Mary Judith Seward on June 22, 1963, and together they raised five children. He was a proud “Papa” to his seven grandchildren. Richard was the owner and operator of Crabtree’s Service Station on Northampton Street in Holyoke for 42 years, a job he truly loved. He often said the best part of his work was the people. He loved talking with anyone and everyone, always ready with a story to tell or a prank to play. In the little time he had that wasn’t dedicated to work and family, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Judy; his children Kevin (Nicole), David Sr. (Karla), Rosalie, Brian (Jenn), and Timothy; and his cherished grandchildren, Kate, Mackenzie, David Jr., Michael, Julia, Stella, and Casey, as well as Casey’s mother, Sheila Moreau. He is also survived by his sister, Sue Dupre; brother-in-law, Norman St. Aubin; sisters-in-law, Jane Fournier and Kathy Seward; many nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Brian May, Ronnie Miller, and Pete Windoloski. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his sister, Christine St. Aubin, and his brother, Roland F. Pratt Jr.
