Richard M. “Dick” Quenneville, age 80, passed away peacefully at Holyoke Medical Center on July 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Holyoke, son of the late Donald and Clara (Tenney) Quenneville and attended Holyoke Schools. Dick served in the United States Army as an MP at Fort Meade in Maryland. He had a long career in the plastic coating division of James River Graphics and Rexham Graphics for 42 years. Dick was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #90 and an active member of the Holyoke Council on Aging where he had many friends and helped run Friday afternoon BINGO. He was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Dorothy (Manijak) Quenneville; three sons: Richard Quenneville, Allen Quenneville, and Mark Quenneville and his wife Kim; four grandchildren: Matthew Quenneville, Nicholas Quenneville, Derrick Quenneville, and Amy Quenneville; his good friend and “bro” Wallace Manijak and his wife Carol, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his cat “Precious” who loved him. Dick was predeceased by his siblings: Ann Jasceyn, Carol Lamagdeleine, and Donald Quenneville. The family would like to thank the staff in the ICU at Holyoke Medical Center for the compassion and care. The funeral will be held on Saturday August 3 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will be held in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
