Richard V. Sznicer, age 67, of Holyoke, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Victor and Stasia (Dziedzic) Sznicer and was educated in the Holyoke Schools, graduating from Holyoke High School in 1976. Richard was a longtime communicant of the former Mater Dolorosa Parish, loved his polish heritage, and enjoyed polish food. He was an avid traveler, enjoyed horseback riding, and photography. He also had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed a good joke. Most of all, he loved his dogs. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Descarage, a brother Edward Sznicer, and his dog Missy. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Patrick R. Sznicer, and his dog Sherman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Avenue, Holyoke. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
