Rita A. (Gregoire) Trudell

Rita A. (Gregoire) Trudell, age 85, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Holyoke Healthcare Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Ovila Gregoire and Lillian (Chabot) Gregoire Sicard, and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Rita was employed for many years as the Deli Manager at the former Wauldbaum’s Food Mart. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an amazing Memé. Rita enjoyed vacationing in Ogunquit, ME, playing BINGO, taking morning walks in the Mall, going to Foxwoods, and playing card games with Connie and Ralph. She loved to cook and made sure that no one left the table hungry. Rita was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Rita is survived by a son, Michael Trudell and his wife Gail; two granddaughters, Jacqueline and Melissa Williams; a son-in-law, Michael Williams, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her step-father, Ernest Sicard; her loving husband of 57 years, Roland Trudell; a son, John Trudell; a daughter, Suzanne Williams; her sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ralph Turgeon; her brother, Ronald Gregoire, and her step-brother, Phil Sicard. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 5th at 10:30 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament School, 21 Westfield Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
