Robert Gadbois, Jr., 69, passed away on September 7, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He was born October 3, 1954 in Holyoke, MA to Robert and Lorraine (Rouleau) Gadbois. He was a lifelong resident of Holyoke. Bob retired after working 20 years for King Ward Coach Lines/Terrien Transportation as a mechanic and motor coach driver. Bob enjoyed meeting people from all around the world and loved learning about other cultures. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan, enjoying his Friday nights at Stafford Motor Speedway in CT. Bob also enjoyed building model race cars. He was a collector of anything that piqued his interest, like marbles, coins, hand grenades, spinners, and model race car kits. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cindy (Bednarz) Gadbois; three children: his daughters Nicole (Gadbois) Lazio and Jenna Gadbois, his sons John Gadbois (Morgen); 5 grandchildren: Sophia and Olivia Lazio, William, Jack and Daniel Gadbois; he also leaves behind two step-children, Jennifer Teal Lazio and Jason Teal. He is also survived by his mother, Lorraine Gadbois; siblings Joann Giroux (John), Caroline St. Germain (Kevin) and Andrew Gadbois. The funeral will be held Thursday September 12 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Saint Jerome Church. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours are Wednesday September 11 from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
