Robert Alan Gelineau

HOLYOKE: Robert Alan Gelineau, 77, of Holyoke, MA, passed away on the morning of December 30, 2025. Born in Holyoke on May 6, 1948, he was the son of Roger and Marion (Robbins) Gelineau. Bob graduated from UMass Amherst in 1970 and went on to work as a caseworker for the Department of Public Welfare and later MassHealth, where he served with dedication until his retirement in 2010. He will be remembered as a kind, patient, and supportive man who was deeply devoted to his family. Bob loved spending time outdoors—whether camping in national parks, tending to his garden, or watching the birds that visited his yard. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanne (Messier) Gelineau; his children, Alison Mosall and Michael Gelineau; and his sister, Debra Shieber of Naples, Florida. Calling hours will be held for Robert on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 2:00pm to 4:45pm followed by a Funeral Home Service at 4:45pm. For those wishing to honor his memory, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude or the American Cancer Society.
