Robert J. "Bob" Stearns

Robert J. "Bob" Stearns, age 81, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Richard G. and Viola (Kane) Stearns and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Holyoke High School in 1958. Robert worked as a quality control manager for Yankee Hill Machine, and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Cross Parish in Holyoke. He was the widower of Elizabeth G. (Fleming) Stearns, who passed away on May 8, 2015. Robert is survived by four sons: John M. Stearns of Holyoke, Mark E. Stearns of Enfield, CT, Kevin R. Stearns of Middleboro, MA, and Matthew C. Stearns of Denver, CO; a daughter, Mary E. Stearns of Torrington, CT; and seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Collin, Sarah, Hannah, Leah, Wyatt, and Megan. Besides his parents and his wife, Robert was predeceased by a sister, Betty Schaefer. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Robert on Friday, May 7th at 11 am at Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Avenue. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. There are no calling hours and the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
