It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger W. Strange, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who departed this life on December 27, 2025. Born on June 6, 1952, in Holyoke, MA, Roger was the son of Kenneth and Lucille Strange, who predeceased him in death. Roger was also predeceased by his devoted wife of 52 years Diane (Frank) Strange who sadly passed in June of this year. Their love blossomed in their high school days and stood the test of time. They married in 1972, and started building their life together. Roger and Diane worked hard each day to provide for their family and together they created a loving home filled with laughter, warmth, and kindness. Roger was the father of two wonderful children, Tammy Jay of South Hadley, MA, and Roger "Boomer" Strange Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth Strange of Chicopee, MA. He carried pride in his role as a grandfather, spoiling his grandchildren: Tyler Biller, Jessica (Biller) French and her husband Justin French, Nathanael Jay, Vinny Strange, and Dominick Strange. Each of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished each of them. Roger was one of five children. He was predeceased by his older sister Patricia Christian of Springfield MA. who is survived by her husband Dave Christian, his sister Elaine Keane and her husband Tom Keane of Chicopee MA., his brother Thomas Strange and his wife Gwen Strange of Chicopee MA., and his youngest sister Ann Wheelock and her husband Clifford Wheelock of Agawam, MA. Roger graduated from Trade High School in Springfield, MA in 1971, laying the foundation for his future. He worked at Easco Hand Tools in Springfield, MA as a millwright for many years, and then later at various places throughout his career. After years of hard work Roger retired from Belmont Laundry in Springfield, MA in which he was the lead millwright demonstrating his strong work ethic, and commitment to his lifelong career. In his younger years, Roger enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and being outdoors. He found the greatest joy in socializing with others, and being with his family. Roger made many friends throughout his life and enjoyed time spent with neighbors and friends.
