Rosa Maria Burgos, age 58, passed away unexpectedly June 26, 2022 at Brigham
& Women’s Hospital in Boston after battling 4 years of Carcinoid cancer and 1 year of heart complications. Rosa was born in Racine, Wisconsin daughter of Isidro Burgos and the late Maria Victoria Gonzalez. She was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Rosa was a beautiful person who took pride in her Puerto Rican heritage, culture, food and music.
She was the business owner and operator of “The Cake Lady” and was well known for her cake decorating and creative cake designs. Rosa is survived by her husband, James J. “Jamie” Keeler, Sr.; two daughters: Glorimar Irizarry of Chicopee and Jessenia Irizarry of South Hadley; a son, James J. Keeler, Jr. of Holyoke; a grandson, Jameis Michael
Morales; four siblings: Yolanda Gonzalez, David Burgos, Daniel Burgos, and Misdalia Burgos; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, God children and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Maria Victoria Gonzalez and two brothers, Isidro Burgos, Jr. and William Burgos.
A prayer service will be held for Rosa on Saturday July 2 at 11:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by burial in Forestdale West Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00am.
